The world’s steepest roller coaster is now in full operation in Japan (where else?!) at the Fuji-Q Highland amusement park. The Takabisha coaster accelerates to 100km/hour and has a 43m drop at a 121 degree freefall. Yikes. The Takabisha beat out the former record holder for the steepest coaster, the Le Timber Drop, from France that measures a “measly” 113.1 degrees. The Fuji-Q Highland park invested a total of $37 millions in the development of the Takabisha, which technically means that the 112 second ride costs the park $12.50 each time. Money well spent.
