When car parts vendor and manufacturer, Traxxas, announced the release of the XO-1 remote control car, it came with a disclaimer. The “intended for use by experts only” warning is a result of the remote control car’s impressive ability to go from 1 to 100 mpg in under 5 seconds, and judging by it’s hefty price, this remote control car is sure to ward of minors (fun fact: the car’s name, XO-1 comes from the terms eXperts Only). The smart-looking “toy” car is being touted as the fasted remote control car in the world, and it’s lithium-powered battery, the Big Block Brushless Motor and heavy-duty drive train are all responsible for ensuring the vehicle reaches and maintains high speeds. Traxxas has also released the Traxxas Link app that allows users to zoom across the salt plain of Lake Bonneville from 0 to 60 mph in 2.3 seconds with real-time telemetry on the iPhone or iPad (the video above demonstrates the XO-1 scooting around the Texas Motor Speedway).
