What Mickey Mouse Should Look Like At 84 Years Old

Mickey Mouse was born in 1928, making him the ripe old age of 84 years old in 2012. Darick Maason has sculpted the Elderly Mickey Mouse. I know what you’re thinking…the artist must have used a Mickey Mouse plastic mask and added wrinkles to it…right? Wrong. (Although admittedly, we thought this too). The sculpture was made entirely from scratch while the artist was enrolled in a mask-making course. Mickey is made out of latex, plaster and clay. Maason painted over the dry latex with his special technique using acrylics that are made to resemble oil paint.
