Apparently, jellyfish are becoming a fad in the world of ornamental aquariums, and Jellyfish Art is a company that is aiming to introduce jellyfish as pets to the masses as living works of art. Jellyfish require special water flow patterns to survive, and many large-scale aquariums are fully equipped to house these magnificent creatures. Jellyfish Art has developed a special type of tank that will allow people to keep a jellyfish as a pet in a tank with proper water flow patterns and less intense water filters, without harming it (aside from the usual harm that is done to animals in captivity, of course). Alex Andon is the founder and president of Jellyfish Art, and after reading about his education from Duke in Biology and Environmental Science, and his experience in the Sea Turtle Protection program where he camped on beaches in Greece to protect nests and hatchlings, we feel some comfort in knowing that Andon cares for marine life and is taking the necessary precautions to ensure that nature is not harmed in order to satiate our materialistic needs to own a unique pet. The Jellyfish Art tanks come in a variety of kit sizes, some of which include moon jellyfish themselves. Other fish and invertebrates can be added to the tank if desired.
