Teenage Mutant Ninja Noses

Imagine our excitement when we discovered these hilarious images of human noses that have been altered to resemble Ninja Turtle heads?! These images come from a frequently-updated tumblr blog called Teenage Mutant Ninja Noses, that has the following slogan: “God is the artist, I just find the turtle in his work”.

The artists takes photographs of celebrities, politicians, sculptures, artists and draws a turtle head outline over the nose. You will notice that the noses actually do resemble the shape of the 1984 cartoon characters’ heads – the Ninja Turtle characters were conceptualized by Kevin Eastman, but the quick sketch was meant to be nothing more than a funny drawing that resulted from a brainstorming session. Using money from a tax refund (as well as a small loan from his uncle), Eastman self-published a comic strip featuring his loveable Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle characters. Shortly after, the comic strip characters were produced in action figure form (1986), and in 1987, the TMNT television show aired on CBS. The rest is all pop culture history.

Brilliant. We had no idea that the human nose looked so much like a Ninja Turtle head, and we’re pretty sure that we will never be able to look at as a nose and see anything other than a turtle with a bandana.
