Stunning Cathedral Made From 55,000 L.E.D. Lights

We literally gasped when we saw photos of the stunning Luminarie De Cagna – an imposing cathedral-like structure that was part of the recent 2012 Light Festival in Ghent Belgium. The structure towers 28 meters high (approx 92 feet) and consists of a colonnade made of wood and 55,000 LED lights that illuminate its facade and ceiling. Luminarie De Cagna is the name of an Italian family business that was founded in 1930, and specializes in lighting and illumination. The company hired Candy & Candy to design and oversee the construction of the impressive Cathedral, and needless to say, the exhibit they put together for the Light Festival was a sure success. (Also, we have to mention that the enticing nature of these photos is due largely in part to the photographers who were able to capture such a brilliant display of light so nicely. Cheers to Stijn Coppens, Sacha Vanhecke, DJ271, and Zeldenrust).
