Fret not, dear reader! You are not alone in your absolute hatred for cold-from-the-fridge butter, which is why we decided to bring you the good news that the brilliant minds at Warburtons (the Uk’s leading independent baker and second biggest grocery brand in the UK) have designed the Warubrtons Toastie Knife – the world’s first fully working, heated butter knife prototype. The Toastie Knife was voted as the “Most Desired Breakfast Innovation” in a UK-based poll of just under 3,000 people, and with any luck, it will be gracing toasted pieces of bread with it’s fabulousness soon enough. The know is battery operated (2 AA batteries) to heat to a temperature of 41.8 degrees Celsius in under 30 seconds – but only the very tip of the knife heats up for safety and ease of use. A flashing LED light indicates the heater has been activated so you know when it’s time to cut through cold butter safely. Unfortunately, the Toastie is just a prototype with no immediate plans for production in the near future as of yet.
