We’re pretty sure you’ve never seen one of these before: A Poo-Powered motorcycle with a toilet bowl for a seat. Were we right, or what?
The unusual motorcycle design, called the Toilet Bike Neo Project, was recently unveiled by leading Japanese toilet manufacturer, TOTO, in order to promote the company’s “Green Challenge” of reducing CO2 emissions in bathrooms by 50% over the next five years (what the..?!).
And yes, the bike is indeed powered by poo (i.e.: biogas, for all you politically correct readers), and the idea is that the rider poops while riding, so as long as the rider is ingesting food and drink, the bike can continue to be fuelled once mother nature takes its course (we guess the rider must have quite a few ass-less chaps packed for the journey).
The bike communicates in Japanese using fancy LED lights, it plays music and also speaks to the rider (you can choose topics of interest including the stock market, the weather,or even have your fortune recounted). The bike (and poo-supplying rider) left for its journey from Kyushu to Tokyo on October 6th 2011,
Keep up-to-date with the latest status of the Toilet Bike Neo Project.
