Olly: The Smell Releasing Twitter Robot

The brilliant folks at MintDigital – a London and New York-based group of software developers, interaction designers and creative strategists have done it again. Introducing, Olly and Molly – two adorable web-connected robots that help you manage and track your online success with social media websites. Olly is a tiny robot that can be synced with any online account, and once you receive a mention, comment or post from others, Olly will subtly release a scent into the air around you. If you’re a popular user, your space will be filled with aromatic pleasure…if not..well, you get the gist. Molly, Olly’s slighty larger and equally cute sister, is eager to turn your retweets into sweets. Literally. Link Molly to your twitter account and she will start counting your retweets. Once you have reached your rewet goal Molly will reward you with a small and delicious sweet snack. We have no idea what purpose either of these robots serve, but we think they are cute, and fun and likely pointing to the future of interactive social media tactics…so…we hope you like them as much as we do.
