Lucy McRae’s Edible Parfum

We are pretty baffled by the latest innovation in the perfume industry introduced by Australian body architect (and artist) Lucy McRae and synthetic biologist Sheref Mansy. The two have teamed up to develop Swallowable Parfum – a cosmetic capsule that enables human skin to emit a genetically unique scent. After it is ingested and digested, the capsule is absorbed by the skin which becomes an atomizer, a biologically enhanced second skin synthesized directly from the natural processes of the body. The scent is released through the skin during perspiration, a natural process that is usually associated with unpleasant doors, but not this time. The potency of scent is determined by each individual’s acclimatization to temperature, stress, exercise or sexual arousal.
