An industrial designer and Orthopedic Surgeon founded Bespoke Fairings in 2009 in an attempt to bring more humanity to people who have congenital or traumatic limb loss. Bespoke Fairings is responsible for major advances in the prosthetic leg industry thanks to the latest innovation of an accurately formed leg cover that fits over top any artificial leg apparatus. A Fairing is a specialized covering that is created using 3D scanning to capture the unique shape of the human leg in an effort to return a human contour to a prosthetic leg, but they also offer amputees a chance to express themselves through an original design that has never before been possible. Fairings can be enchanted with patterns, graphics and a variety of materials (including leather, ballistic nylon fabric, chrome plating and even tattoos).

Fairings include a front and back part which are made out of high-quality, durable materials, some of which are even dishwasher safe, and are easily removed and swapped for different styles without the assistance of a medical professional.
