Crazy Self Portraits Of A Levitating Girl

Tokyo-based artist Natsumi Hayashi has been photographing herself for a long time, but her photos are not like most other self-portraits. Hayashi has made a name for herself as the levitating girl, and for good reason. Her perfectly timed self-portraits feature her cute self seemingly floating slightly above the ground. Hayashi shares the secret to her levitating photos on her website and blog, and while she describes her artistic process in great detail, we’ll sum it up for you: She jumps while a friend takes a photo of her. Wow, simple as that, and yet the photographs depict very little evidence that she has been jumping. In most cases, her hair and clothing remain unaffected, adding a sense of realism to the photographs. Not too shabby at all, considering the fact that most of the photos we share of floating objects or people have been altered in post-production. Kudos to this bright, young artist who has managed to capture a sense of serenity and whimsicality in her work through practical effects.

Your site says “It is possible that Thats Like WHOA will unknowingly feature material that is subject to copyright.” Please realize that EVERYTHING you share that you do not have permission to post is someone else’s property and you are STEALING FROM THEM. ALL photos are expressly protected by copyright laws unless you have obtained written permission to use them. we are reporting you to Facebook and all content owners (as they can be located via Google Image Search). Be prepared to receive DMCA takedown notices and to possibly lose your hosting because of it unless you remove all copyrighted material within 72 hours. AGAIN EVERYTHING IS COPYRIGHTED UNLESS YOU MADE IT YOURSELF OR WERE GIVEN PERMISSION TO USE IT. You are KNOWINGLY stealing from the people that went through the trouble and expense to produce this work. Pay them or pay the consequences. (You aren’t even giving credit or links to the original authors in most cases. This is the worst case of internet theft that everything thinks is acceptable and the reason why stricter laws will inevitably be passed since people like you do not respect the property and hard work of others.)
