Lighting designer Benoit Deseille and artist Benedetto Bufalino has transformed an unused phone booth in Lyon, France, into a beautiful aquarium in honour of the city’s annual Festival of Light. The artists aimed to transform the forgotten and unused telephone booth into something interesting an beautiful for a change – the exotic coloured fish presented passersby with an invitation to escape and travel, and also consider the consequences of advancing technology that has left other means of communication behind. We love anything upcycled, and this booth-turned-aquarium makes good use of an otherwise unnecessary hunk of junk that was doomed for the landfill.
