An iPad Cover With Built-In Speakers

Yet another awesome Kickstarter project for a product that we personally LOVE over here in WHOA-land. Petur Hannes Olafsson is the brains behind the Sound Cover – a protective case for the iPad that features high quality, built-in speakers. As avid users of the iPad, we can appreciate a built-in speaker system that doubles as a shield and also an iPad stand, making listening to music even more portable and easy than before. On an Off, Olafsson’s production company, has conceptualized the Sound Cover and has produced an awesome and sleek prototype that features rechargeable NXT stereo speakers that are built into an ultra-thin and durable ABS case with an integrated aluminum speaker stand that has bass boost function (for those bass-y reggaeton hits you know you love). The speakers are powered from a built-in lithium-ion battery (12 hour life) and the case comes with a USB cable that can be used to connect to a computer or USB power source to charge the internal battery. A small 3.5mm jack allows you to connect your iPad to the built-in speakers and the volume can be managed by the iPad’s standard controls but at a 300% volume increase. The best part? The case allows for auto-sleep and wake-up functions just like the Apple Smart Cover. The even better part? The Sound Cover comes with a Bluetooth function so you can enable a wireless audio connection to the iPad.
